About Ennis: Philosophy

Home Page

Ennis is a thriving Texas community of 19,500. Our unique downtown architecture is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, and as a community we seek to retain the historic charm of the turn of the century through a variety of festivals and beautification programs. The red brick of Main Street is lined with festive banners, native trees, turn-of-the-century lights, and park benches placed outside antique shops. Our civic pride is showcased in the Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum. Completely renovated in 1992 to reflect the "golden age" of railroading, this building was constructed in 1915, and served as a restaurant and train depot. Attractive oak and brass furnishings surround a fascinating collection of train memorabilia and contemporary photo displays of historic Ennis.

Today, Ennis is big business. Over 5,400 people work in 64 diverse industries. The "Bluebonnet City" produces automobile parts, electric power, plastic storage containers, clothing, furniture, steel, electronics, custom rifles, as well as business and computer documents. We are home to a state-of-the-art CVS/pharmacy Distribution Center, and Ennis hosts world class racing events at The Texas Motorplex with speeds reaching an incredible rate of 326.91 mph!

The City of Ennis has increased its valuation over the last 14 years by more than $465.6 million in economic growth. We are confident that you will find our business incentives are among the very best in the United States!..
